Explicitly Yours The Complete Series eBook Jessica Hawkins

So this series started off ok, but slowly slid downhill quickly for me. We start off with three characters who we're obviously meant to feel certain things for.
Beau: Millionaire "hottie"
Johnnie: The boyfriend
Lola: The heroine.

********** This will contain serious SPOILERS, so be aware! ***********

I'll start with the Beau.
I actually never really felt an attachment or attraction to him. Which is odd for me. He comes into the bar and offers Lola a million dollars to spend the night with him. We soon learner has a reason for doing this with her and it's so unbelievably lame that it made me dislike him even further. He's basically a thirty-something year old man who throws the biggest ten year tantrum I've ever heard of. Cause that's exactly what it was, a tantrum.

Lola:
I seriously have nothing nice to say about her. We're meant to feel sorry for her. I REALLY TRIED to. I dug deep down... but the more you read about her, the more you just want to shake her a little (a lot)
She throws accusations around and blame falls on everyone else but her. She was equally at fault through it all and by the time the last book ended I'd had enough of her self-righteous speeches. The scene with Johnnie was uncalled for. And when she ended up being just as evil as Beau in book three and four, she didn't even apologize for it like she made Beau do in the dirt, in the Grand Canyon. Like I said, that speech? Ugh. She ended up being his clone. Remember babe, when you point the finger at everyone else, you have three more pointing right back at you.

Johnnie.
Yeah, so Johnnie was the only one I had a little sympathy for. We're meant to be angry at him for even CONSIDERING 'letting' Lola do this.
Again, they decided TOGETHER to take the money. Then after she gets attached to Beau, she yells that he should have stopped all of this. This was HIS fault.
Now, to me, when they discussed this TOGETHER, He asked her opinion because she was his equal. He didn't get all cavemen and tell her "Heck NO! She wasn't going to even talk this guy. She was only allowed to do what HE said cause he Tarzan, and she Jane!" *grunt*
No, he treated it as a decision they made together.
Then, when she was all eager to do it a second time, that was ALL his fault too.
Poor Johnnie. He was very dense. And very in love with Lola. Spent all night waiting on the couch until she got home. But it was all over for him. by then

I mean, isn't that what we girls complain about in book reviews? How dare men push us around and walk all over us , making our decisions for us? We want to be treated as equals!!
To me, that's exactly what he did. Let Lola do as she wanted. Asked her opinion and let her make the decision.
I mean, it was a MILLION DOLLARS.
Poor Johnnie.
Who also made his own really bad mistake in the end.

I thought all the characters were unlikable. I'm sorry.
I tried to feel for them.
I really did.

Oh, and Brigitte having an epiphany after ONE therapy session was laughable. Except it wasn't.

Oh well...
*sigh*

Explicitly Yours The Complete Series eBook Jessica Hawkins Reviews

It has a great storyline. Well written. Great romance and sex. I loved the characters. Beau is your typical chauvinistic, controlling male because he grew up without a father and never believed he was enough . Lola an insecure, codependent girl. Has fear and mistrust in her relationship with men because her father left when she was a young girl and due to her mother's lack of self worth raised her up with her feeling like she was not enough. The ending was a bit melodramatic but still very enjoyable read.
Beau and Lola!! Phew, this is the ultimate indecent proposal story. I loved every hot, titillating, steamy second of this series!!

Given the chance to make a choice that could change your life, what would you do? And how far would you go? Well if Beau is on the other side of that choice. I'd be all in.

These characters are so steamy, don't wear you glasses because they'll be fogged up in 2.2 seconds!!
How do get revenge on someone who you fall in love? And when it's done, did you go too far to forgive? Some times pride can be ruthless. It makes a person make mistakes that sometimes you can't take back. In the end, was revenge really worth all the pain and turmoil? To find out you must read this amazing story. I was shocked, I was mad, I was sad and hopeful. Thank you Jessica for being an awesome writer. Can't wait to read the rest of your books.
Loved this story. It was one that really pulled you in & had you feeling so many emotions. When I purchased the series for .99 cents I wasn't expecting a lot but was very pleasantly surprised to receive a story I couldn't put down. Jessica Hawkins is definitely an author I will be watching for more books from.
I love love loved this book! I wanted more of the ending... actually, I wanted more of all of it, lol. I’ve been wanting to read this book for a while now and I definitely took my time with it. It was perfect. Definitely caught my emotions by surprise and didn’t let go. I didn’t like what it took but I loved that Lola got stronger. Beau and Johnny played their roles great and, in the end, Lola was happy and that was all that mattered. There was a twist with Beau that caught me off guard but it explained a ton also. I wish I would’ve seen past the ending. Maybe an epilogue a couple years down the road but, regardless, brining a man to his knees is always a pleasure! Definitely a must read!
Wow. This story pulled me in. I loved it. Everything was great, the characters, the writing. Beau woke up a side to Lola that was dormant after settling for life at Hey Joe with Johnny. I didn't like Johnny too much and only cause it was obvious that the money SHE earned went to his head and he didn't really think ahead. He was ok with a one dimension life. Beau definitely had issues with power and money, and it was a good message about having and caring only about money because in reality he lived a lonely life. I do think his reasoning for wanting to get "revenge" on Lola was really silly but that goes with who he grew to be. I loved that she decided to make him pay. Call me petty but it wasn't right how he degraded and broke her heart, so I felt he deserved to suffer. Everything came together nicely. Lola stayed true to who she was by not being extravagant while on her road trip. She stepped out her box and experienced country life and it allowed her to really get clarity on where she wanted to be. I wasn't expecting the Grand Canyon to be the end place but it made sense.. They got their happily ever after. It would be nice to read a follow-up book because I'd love to see what their life is like as a couple and as parents.

Jessica Hawkins has become one of my favorite writers. I've read 3 of her series and can't wait to read them all!
